What exactly does a digital 8 track recorder do ?
I was looking at this one not sure what it does
Fostex MR8 MKII 8-Track Digital Recorder
Does it let you record different tracks of your own and mix them.
Or can you only record your own music like 1-8 tracks?
Or do you record your music and then can add Sound Effects.
Or all of the above.
It's like any Multi Track recorder. It's essentially 8 tape recorders in one. There are 8 tracks. If you want to mix them, you need an outboard mixer. It will record whatever you feed into it. It's pretty simple. It will record one track at a time, or two, or three or four etc.
