How Hybrid Motors Work to Lessen Emissions
The automobile industry has been creating cars that are proving to be a major threat to the planet and its environment. Cars that run on fuel give out harmful emissions that only contribute to the already increasing population of the air. Major automobile companies have recognized the need for cars that are more eco-friendly and which can help people to continue commuting without causing so much pollution. Another major reason for the need of such eco-friendly cars is the rapid consumption of non-renewable fuel to such a point that at this rate there will soon be a scarcity of fuel in the world. The hybrid motor was introduced to take care of these problems. Car companies are all investing in making more cars that have hybrid motors because of their eco-friendliness. Hybrid cars have become increasingly popular among people all over the world.
Hybrid cars contain both the fuel combustion engine as well as a hybrid battery that runs on electric power. The car uses both the fuel as well as the electric power to run on the roads. Traditional vehicles only have the fuel combustion engine that runs only on fuel. In a hybrid motor car, the engine does not run on fuel but instead acts as a generator that has pre-stored electric power that is used to run the car. Hybrid cars also contain an electric motor that uses the electric power from the batteries to move the wheels of the car. A conventional car uses large amounts of fuel because the engines are gasoline engines that require fuel to turn the wheels. The car requires the most amount of fuel when it's gaining speed on the road. Once a certain speed is obtained, the fuel used to maintain that speed is much lesser power. In traditional cars, the engine continues to use up huge amounts of fuel during the cruising period.
In a hybrid car, the engines charge up an alternative generator when the car is running. When the batteries of the generator have enough power stored up, the power switches from the gas engine to the generator and continues to run on the electric power supplied by the generator until it gets used up completely. When this happens, the power switched back to the gas engine which runs that car and charges up the generator again and the process continues as long as the car is running. A hybrid engine avoids emitting as many harmful emissions as a normal gas engine does because of the continuous shift of power supplying. Hybrid cars usually contain two electric motors that are attached to the front and the back wheels of the vehicle. The computer in the car controls the energy flowing to these engines according to the demands of the driver. When the driver accelerates, the computer sends more energy to increase the rotation of the wheels thus providing more torque. When the car has attained a certain speed and maintains that speed, the computer reduces the flow of energy to the motors and might even shut it down completely and the car continues to cruise.

Justifiable homicide vs Premeditated murder question (too long to put here)?
Suppose person "A" has put themselves into a situation where person "B" is going to give them no choice but to kill them in order to save "A"'s own life. Suppose "A" know about this condition in advance, but entered into the situation anyway. "B" would not otherwise be harming "A" or any of "A"'s family, property, etc... but would definitely try to kill "A" once the situation was initated. Assume the situation itself is not an illegal action on either person's part.
The situation occurs, and "A" ends up successfully killing "B" as once the situation began, there was absolutely no other way for "A" to survive, and "A" knew this would be the eventual outcome.
In various jurisdictions, would this be more likely to be treated as self-defense, pre-meditated murder or some quasi-hybrid of the two?
This would probably be seen as self defense. With that being said some states require that an individual must retreat (if the possibility exists) before meeting deadly force. Other states allow you told hold your ground and meet deadly force without retreating.
An close example of your example could be with battered women. A famous case was People v Norman. She was convicted of killing her husband because she shot him while sleeping. If the facts were changed and he was awake she would have probably gotten away with killing him even though he was not currently threatening her.
Generally to be self defense the killing has to be
Necessary
An unlawful and imminent threat given
The force used must be proportional to force being meet
A reasonable person would react that way
I hope this helps but without a little more specific info that is the best I can give. I kinda threw a lot on the wall and hope something sticks for you
